Buyer

STIHL Romania is seeking a collaborative Buyer to join our global purchasing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities across the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). As a fully integrated member of our global purchasing team, you will support business users across DACH region and collaborate within cross-functional teams—driving continuous improvement in our procurement processes, service portfolio, and overall quality.

You're a Great Fit If You Have:

  • A solid understanding of commercial processes, gained through studies, an apprenticeship, or a comparable educational path
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, with bonus points if you're familiar with SAP S/4 and Ariba
  • Good command of German (a must), and ideally, strong English skills as well
  • Previous experience in procurement or a related field—that’s a definite plus
  • Excellent communication skills, a confident and professional presence, and a collaborative mindset
  • An analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach to your work.  

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • You'll provide purchasing services for the STIHL network, with a focus on supporting operations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
  • You'll handle operative procurement tasks end-to-end—from processing purchase requests to managing purchase orders
  • Based on specific needs, you’ll take on tactical sourcing activities, such as obtaining and analyzing quotes, and supporting contract management
  • You’ll work closely with suppliers, guiding them to collaborate effectively with STIHL through our Ariba system
  • You’ll interact daily with stakeholders and suppliers—primarily in German—ensuring clear, professional communication at every step.
